Blowing dust and high winds forced the closure of U.S. 287 in southeastern Colorado from Lamar south to Springfield on Friday morning.The Colorado State Patrol announced the closure in a Twitter posting “due to visibility issues” caused by the high winds. 73-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near South Tenaya WayLAS VEGAS, NV (March 31, 2023) – Sunday night, Albert Sell was killed and Kyle Foster was arrested after a crash on West Flamingo Road.Police responded to the scene around 5:00 p.m., near South Tenaya Way.According to reports, 28-year-old Foster was driving west in a black 2019 Chevrolet Colorado. Meanwhile, the 74-year-old female driver of a white 2013 Ford Taurus made a left turn directly into the path of the Chevy.As a result, Foster’s vehicle collided head-on with the Ford before striking a stopped moped in a private driveway.Paramedics responded and took the 64-year-old woman, her 73-year-old male passenger, and Foster to University Medical Trauma for treatment. SAN LEANDRO — Repair work to a 60-year-old pedestrian bridge that collapsed under the weight of a fallen tree during a wind storm earlier this month will begin as soon as the debris is cleared from it.That process is only now just beginning.“The first thing that needs to be done is to clear the area of the bridge damage itself, the concrete around it, other debris,” San Leandro Unified School District spokesperson Keziah Moss said. “We haven’t even started cleaning out what’s fallen because we keep getting bad weather.”The SLUSD and city of San Leandro announced earlier this week they will join forces to repair the bridge, which connects Cary Drive with Haas Avenue. A Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputy was fired more than a year after he was involved in a fatal crash — and just days after the Modesto Bee disclosed that he had been found primarily at fault.Eric Fulmer was driving 121 mph in the fog before his patrol car broadsided a car at a T-intersection near Newman on Jan. 9, 2022, an investigation by the California Highway Patrol found. Michigan Rep. Dan Kildee said Friday that he was diagnosed with a “serious but curable form of cancer” after a tumor was found in one of his tonsils.Kildee, 64, said he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma that was detected very early by doctors and that he will have surgery in a few weeks to remove it.“The prognosis after surgery and treatment is excellent,” the Flint-area Democrat said in a statement. “I am going to get through this. I’m going to beat cancer.”Kildee said doctors have advised him that recovery from surgery could take a few weeks.
